Hello everyone! I decided to create this tribe to talk about music for dancers. I think it is so important to our art form, and I have found through my teaching that it is essential to teach the music with the dance.
I recently bought the new "Visual Melodies" DVD by Hossam and Serena Ramzy, and it has taught me so much about phrasing. This is something that my Egyptian teacher, Faten, has taught me. This is where the poetry happens.
I have always been aware of matching my dance to the music, as I was lucky enough to be able to work with live musicians at an early age, . However, it is a new concept for some of the new generation of bellydancers, so I thought this would be a good place to discuss music for dancers.
Any questions, bring them on!
Love...Katya xoxo
